We’ve gone miso mad this September at Japan Centre and celebrating all things Marukome – the miso brand with over 100 years of experience under their belts. Let’s take a look at what’s going down in store and online…
In store sampling
Come along and indulge in some delicious free tasters at Japan Centre Piccadilly. You’ll be able to sample classics like Premium White Miso and more unique options including Ryotei No Aji Togarashi Miso which features Chinese chilli sauce and Korean chilli paste for an extra kick. Sampling will be held on the 18th, 19th, 20th, 25th, 26th and 27th of September from 1pm – 4pm.
A free gift makes for the perfect pair
For the duration of our Marukome miso fair (17th – 30th September), if you pick up a bottle of brand-new, fresh-off-the-boat Eki Miso Ryotei No Aji we’ll give you a corresponding miso bowl, both in-store and online. This miso is one of Marukome’s most celebrated products, as it comes in a golden liquid form making it user friendly and perfect for use in marinades and dressings. Simply shake and pour to impart great umami flavour!
These two beauties harmonise gloriously, as the bowl is uniquely crafted to feature lines within which illustrate the optimum miso-to-water mixing levels and the liquid miso is perfect for pouring. With the resulting miso soup, you’ll be, bowled over :D
Recipes galore
It’s not just marvellous miso that Marukome makes. We’re super excited by their koji, an important ingredient in Japanese cuisine used in the production of miso and sake. Foodies everywhere will love the umami flavour and ability to tenderise meat and fish which koji brings. The two koji ingredients we’ve got our hands on are Shio Koji, a clear liquid which has enjoyed a resurgence of interest in Japan of late, as well Shoyu Koji, which combines koji with soy sauce to create a kind of super-ingredient.
